Gathering Sparrows. We are a family of six who have over the years been creating our own unique path as a family. Fifteen years ago when our oldest twins were born, we made a choice to find a way to be able to spend more time together, show them the world, and live a life of impact empowering the world's forgotten poor through non-profit work globally. In order to do this we decided to combine our love for construction and design by entering the world of buy-and-hold real estate.

People thought we were crazy as we took the little money we had and moved from property to property fixing up houses, living in them with young children, and then renting them out for profit. With each property we lovingly rehabbed, came a deeper desire to use this passion to provide affordable and modern spaces for others to be able to take a rest from the demands of daily life and be together with the ones they love. A space where even the family dog could be included in the vacation.

After many lessons, ups and downs along the way, and family adventures, our non-profit work led us to the beautiful country of Malawi, Africa. During the several months we lived in Malawi, we added a second set of twins to our family through the gift of adoption. We are grateful that Malawi has become a very integral part of our life and passion, quickly becoming one of the the special places in this world that feels like home to us.

In all the places we have gone we have been the recipient of so much hospitality and love. Often being inspired as we go by vacation rentals we are a guest at, spaces that would feel like a haven of rest and restoration as soon as we would walk through the doors. And so it is our hope when a guest walks through the doors of our homes, that they would also feel the same sense of belonging that we have experienced on our journey along the way. Each of us, like sparrows finding our way and hopefully finding a safe space to gather together, to find inspiratation for the days ahead, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
